Christmas OOTD

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had an amazing Christmas!

I spent my day with my family eating lots of goodies and watching loads of lovely christmas movies, like Love Actually, Home Alone II and Harry Potter.

Taught I would share what I wore to dinner, I wanted to dress up but still be comfortable so I went for my usual skirt and jumper combo.

Jumper / Oasis
Skirt / Oasis
Tights / Pennys
Boots / Bershka
Torque Necklace / H&M

I love the two tone effect of this jumper when the sleeves are rolled up.

These boots from Bershka are probably the most comfortable boots I own.

I kept my make up simple with a nude lip, some brown eyeliner (Mac Teddy which I am loving) and a winged line on my lids.

Daisy also got dressed up for the day with a cute bow.

Let me know what your christmas traditions are and what movies you watched over the holidays,

Merry Christmas Feathers,

Mini ASOS Order

Hello, Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

So I decided to treat myself and place a mini ASOS order.
I had a 25% off code so I really couldn't pass it up :)

I ordered a biker style coat and a leather look dress, I will be wearing the dress for Stephen's Day or New Year's Eve so I will post an OOTN then so you all can see what the dress looks like on and as it has gotten so cold recently I will probably wear this lovely coat out as well.

I love getting a new dress for the christmas party season, let me know if any of you are the same!

I would size down for this jacket as it comes up a bit big but I like that cause it means I can fit a chunky knit underneath.

I love the half leather sleeve on this jacket, its a subtle touch and a bit different to the full leather sleeve jackets that are out.

 ASOS PETITE Exclusive Biker Coat
(also available in black)

I am in love with this dress, these photos simply don;t do it justice as it looks so beautiful on.
I am 5'3" and the dress comes up just about the knee on me and looks so classy, I will probably pair it with court shoes and my embellished clutch.

Talk soon Feathers & Merry Christmas

The Avene Review

Hello Everyone!

Apologies for the lack of updates recently, both Aoife and I have been pretty busy lately. I must honestly commend all the bloggers and youtubers out there who are doing daily blogmas/vlogmas posts and videos, ye are amazing!

Today I will just speak a little about some skincare products that I have been using and seriously lovin' over the last 2 months. I have seen a marked difference in my skin and over all complexion. I feel like my skin has developed a greater resistance to the colder weather and has not dried out in my problem areas - mainly nose and just general tightness over all.

The Avene range is perfect for those with highly sensitive skin...

..."EAU THERMALE Avène is a unique French derma-cosmetic brand dedicated to each level of skin

sensitivity; from sensitive, intolerant to allergic".

I myself fall under the sensitive category. Like most, I am prone to sensitivity and dry skin generally which tends to flare up during the colder months. The products that I have been using are the Extremely Gentle Cleanser, Gentle Toner and the Thermal Spring Water all from Avene

The Extremely Gentle Cleanser's title says it all. It is very gentle on the skin. You simply apply a teaspoon size to your palm and work into your face/neck with your fingertips. It has a runny milky texture and virtually fragrance free. You wipe off with tissue paper. It says to 'dab' off on the back but who has time for dabbing when your in a rush in the mornings or tired in the evenings?! I usually double cleanse at night if I have been wearing make up that day - this is why it is almost finished.

I follow this with the Gentle Toner. This is wonderful. Anyone with dry skin will know that toners usually dry out your face and can even feel abrasive - ouch! This is the most gentle toner I have ever used and will use for the foreseeable future. It is a clear liquid with a little going a long way. I use this morning and night. As you can see from the second image above I have used very little in the last two months. Not only is it gentle to skin but also to your wallet!

Finally to finish off this part of my skincare routine I spritz some of the Thermal Spring Water on my face and neck. This feels lovely and gives your face a dewy feel. This is a superb product which can be used after exercise, for burns, sunburn and even shaving burn which we all suffer from from time to time! I have used this product more so than the rest as it is the perfect pick-me-up if your face is feeling a little tired.

All in all I am so happy with this new skincare routine, I have used other cleansers and toners, wipes and gel washes in the past but these Avene products have come up trumps and are now a definite skincare staple. My face has transformed and is glowing and NO dry patches have emerged like other winters past.

I would highly recommend this product if you have dry sensitive skin or are not happy with your current skincare regime. Avene have a very wide range of products catering for all skin types and are available in most chemists and pharmacies.

I hope ye found this review helpful! What are ye're skincare must haves?? I would love to know as like most of you I am always looking and learning!

Olivia Palermo - Style Crush

Hello Everyone!
Hope you are all well.

Our style crush this month is Olivia Palermo.
Olivia never seems to get it wrong and alway looks so put together whether it's attending fashion week or walking her dog on the streets of New York.
What we love most about Olivia's style is that she is not afraid to be adventurous and mix patterns and textures and she pulls this off so effortlessly.
Below are some of our picks of her best outfits, hope you enjoy them!

Olivias key look is usually a statement coat, a pair of shades and heels!

Olivia is bang on trend by mixing leather and fur for a cool look.

Olivia is papped shopping a lot in Zara, a girl after our own hearts.

I always get inspiration from Olivia's outfits now if only I had endless access to her wardrobe!
Let us know what your favourite outfit was or who your style crush is.

OOTD: Leather Lovin'

Hello everyone!

So the weather is definitely getting colder, this evening I could see so many beautiful stars in the sky - one of the many perks of living waaay out in the country!

Today I had some Christmas shopping to do. Believe me, I am desperate for leaving it to the last minute but in this case I needed EVERYTHING sorted by the sixth. My Mom and I are sending out a Christmas hamper to my dearest cousins - more like bro's and sister really - in Australia (the sixth is the latest you can send packages to Oz if you want them delivered before Christmas day). They can't make it home this year and we want to send them some Christmas cheer in the 45 degree heat - they will be missed on the day but thats life, all hail Skype!

So here is the outfit I wore. I was in a shopping centre so I didn't really need boots and my hat is mainly there to cover a very bad hair day!

Hope ye are all well!

Dublin City and Temple Bar: Our Trip Away

The lovely Paramount Hotel
Getting ready for Kodaline!

Hello everyone!

As some of you may know from our previous posts we took a trip up to Dublin the week before last to see the band Kodaline in the Olympia Theater. They were AMAZING and tickets were only €20!! Such a bargain...the cheapest part of it!

Along with this we did a little (a lot of) shopping in Dublin's city center, Jervis Shopping Centre, Dundrum Town Centre and checked out Dublin's infamous Temple Bar area which was within walking distance of the hotel we stayed in. We were also only a 5-10 minute walk from the city center and Grafton Street.

The Paramount Hotel was affordable, in the perfect location as it was quiet but just a stones throw from the busier streets and the hospitality was second to none. Plus unlike most hotels what you see online is what you get!

We had a wonderful time. The people were lovely everywhere we went. The staff in the pubs, restaurants and shops were really friendly and the night life was pretty good too. The food was so good and there is definitely a restaurant, bar or club to suit anyone and everyone in Dublin!

There was a great buzz in the city and it began to feel a lot like Christmas with all of the beautiful lights and lighting features around Grafton Street and in the shopping centers. Unfortunately we didn't get any night time photos with the lights turned on as it didn't seem like a good idea to bring such a large (and costly) camera out with us - boo!

Lucky for us the weather stayed rain free over those few days but it was damn coooold all the same! Dublin is a beautiful city with many sights and features; it is easy to see why it draws hundreds of thousands of tourists and visitors every year. Here are some photos we took during our stay in the big shmoke featuring the lovely hotel and other typical 'city-style' pictures.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Note: Temple Bar is cobbled (like Coronation Street). Try not to wear heels if you value the safety of your ankles!

Also we discovered that Bewleys coffee is DELICIOUS!

And finally there is a strong probability of being pooped on by the pigeons at Heuston Station Dublin...so watch out!
