Catrice Cosmetics Addict

Catrice // Primark/Penneys

Like many I have a wee grá (Irish for love) for Catrice nail polishes from Primark/Penneys. The collection is super cheap (retailing under €3 a pop), relatively long wearing with a wide variation of colours to suit everyone. They also make a habit of updating their nail polish range seasonally with new colour additions. A good and bad thing!

As you can tell from above I have a small (yeah right) collection of my own in the works that is growing monthly. Worryingly so, but then again its good to let your nails do the talking sometimes!

Hope everyone's having a good week! The weekend is almost upon us again, hurrah!

An Ode to the January Sales...

Ankle Boots // Office

Never a one to pass up a good sale, I took to Office last week in the hopes of finding nude heels. I walked out of the shop with a new purchase, no nude heels in sight of course. In my defense (how I start sentences concerning most retail purchases worryingly enough) these ankle boots are AMAZING. They are comfortable, stylish and have a wicked grip thanks to the rubber sole. A great combo.

They were a STEAL and I stress this as not only were they down from €104 to €35, but when I skipped up to the till they had a FURTHER 20% reduction on all sale items that day. These babies came in at a cool €28 *Hallelujah*

Hope ye like this post!

Hello all and happy weekend!

Just a quick post on this beautiful bronze sequenced clutch (with detachable chain detail) above that was gifted to me by a good friend this past Christmas.

It's love, that is all I can say! I am a sucker for gold/bronze accessories and this is riiiiight up my street. This is a seasonal all-rounder and I cannot wait to start styling it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Begin again...

Hello everyone and a very Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/Holidays wherever you are. I certainly did. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by my crazy friends and even crazier family and began a new year with a better attitude than last year, thankfully.

This time last year I was unemployed and feeling a little hopeless, lost. The generic mantra 'New Year, New You!' was definitely NOT appealing to me and frankly p!ssed me off a little.

January can be quite a difficult time of year as it is, especially when trying to have a positive attitude is the last thing on your mind. I find this month can resemble a pan on the boil, it heats up slowly as you set your 'resolutions' in motion, but can quickly boil over so very easily leaving you deflated. People TRY new things (fitness/diet/health being primary areas) and then fade out as the month goes by making them feel like failures. Not good.

Balance is key. Balance is, personally, always key for me. I think that if you want to change or achieve your personal goals you must prepare and consciously make a decision to keep on track. Set yourself achievable targets and follow from there. You must allow for failures, set backs and just days when striving forward is the last thing you want to do. Keep going regardless, don't sweat the small stuff. They're only small stuff! Stay positive, surround yourself with positive people who enhance your life and vica versa. You must have give/take. Take the rough with the smooth. Don't over-think. Be perceptive. Be kind. Be balanced.

So, as the year begins I have three simple personal goals which you may find inciteful:

1. Say 'Yes' more. Yup purdy easy. Put yourself out there and try new things. Surprise yourself!

2. Say 'No' more. Just say no. Screw it! You are your own person, you have a choice. Say no.

3. 'Be Positive'. Look forward with good intentions. Think positive. Be the you YOU want to be. Radiate positivity. Smile :)

Happy New Year!

Mini Autumn/Winter Haul

Hey all!

Today I have a little haul for you. Hurrah! I wasn't very frugal with my expenditures on my Croatia holliers in August so times were a' tough for awhile. I have been scrimping over the last number of weeks to add to my already admittedly mahoosive autumn/winter clothes collection. Being from Ireland it's standard for a girls wardrobe to consist of 80% cold weather clothes. I don't think I need to explain why, much. Rain. Lots of rain and wind. Oh and cold weather...aaand that's just JUNE, you get me?!

First on my Autumn/Winter hit list was a cape. Yup I caved to the 'trend' but this gorgeous New Look cape is special. Just my happy balance between Chic/Boho. Whats not to like? Big, cozy and just plain fabulous! A 'night-time' counterpart was thus purchased at a market in the RDS during the Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show. Random. J'adore, j'adore. I also needed to invest in a leather jacket. Like most, I have been on the lookout for my 'perfect' leather jacket. I hit a winner with this waterfall effect beaut so happy (stylish) days!

I fell in love with this pinstripe-esq box style pullover from New Look. So soft. So chic. #majorlove. The ankle booties were a must buy. I'm talking desperate times. My Topshop Chelsea boots bit the dust and were subsequently binned. Sad times but necessary...it just meant replacements! The brown Chelsea boots are from Parfois, serious love for this shop. Very reasonable. These cost €45. A total bargain in my opinion for the style/quality. The black suede tassel boots are Zara Basic. They are divine and were a total steal at €30 in their summer (go figure) sale down from €80!!

Last but not least the bodycon River Island digital print dress. Very much out of my comfort zone but I decided my night time style needed a pep and this was it. Lets just say it was eye catching! ;)

So there you have it, my mini haul. Of course more shall be bought. I mean its only November after all! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Love, Noir

October Style Picks

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately...Aoife and I have been pretty busy working etc and as many bloggers will know it is difficult juggling all the different aspects of your life and on top of that maintaining an interest in blogging too.

So, the break was nice but expect a few more posts before Christmas tiiiiiiiime! Yes, already mentioning Christmas because lets face it once November starts its a slippy slope to December. On the plus side the weather has been exceptionally mild in Ireland but I'm not too lulled into a sense of security as the sh!t will no doubt hit the fan weather-wise eventually. Ever the optimist, I know!

This post is pretty simple (to ease me back into blogging). These ladies were my October Style Picks. Oddly enough not one of these women (bar Emma Watson's pants) are wearing dark colours for Autumn/Winter hence why I was drawn to these looks. My obsession with cream/nude/white this past Autumn is not wavering!

Hope ye like this and I look forward to future blogging adventures! What were your favourite looks over the last month?

So Debenhams had a sale...

Not only did Debenhams have a sale, they had a DAMN good sale. So being the compulsive spender I am (who needs car tax?) I went ahead and bought not one but TWO pairs of Carvelas...oops. In my defense I had a wedding coming up and needed new heels. The beautiful blue ones here are what I got and man was I lucky I went with them.

They were a DREAM to wear. They brought we through 7 hours of dancing, standing, walking up and down stairs with not a blister or cut come 4.30am. Now that my friends is a shoe worth investing in. So I went ahead and prayed that there would be a size 5 in the nude pair left the following week...and so there was.

As many of you know its near impossible to find nude heels that are both stylish, comfortable, reasonably priced and in it for the long haul. These babies tick all of the boxes and, in my opinion were a bargain to boot. The blue Carvelas were reduced from €150 to €75 and the nudes from €140 to €65....give or take two shoes for the price of one. Thank you Debenhams.

Hope you like the pics, I had to share because they are so beautiful (always a sucker for gold details). Have ye picked up any good deals this spring/summer sale time?
